Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Pax River Awards Contract to TCS for 2 8-Foot and 2 10-Foot L-/S-/C-Band Autotracking Systems.
Tuesday, July 01, 2008

With the ever-reducing amount of frequency allocation in the traditional telemetry bands, there is a move to C-Band as the new band of choice. Naval Air Systems Command at Pax River selected TCS to start them on their way to supporting C-Band telemetry missions while retaining their current L-Band and S-Band capability. The C-Band frequencies will be downconverted to reduce signal loss through the RF cables and then upconverted again to utilize their current receiver assets. The 4 systems will be based on TCS’s Model 3000 series pedestal and driven by the Antenna Control Unit-M1.
